Multilingualism or religion:a cause of our political problems?

The warring situation in this country has got many puzzled as to what has really gone wrong. Some may link it to our multilingual nature while others might link it to our religious state. But you see, these two forces are really involved in what is happening today.
Multilingualism in Nigeria is such that we have an official language which is English and 3 co-official languages which is Igbo,Yoruba and Hausa. While those in the south accept English as its lingua franca, those in the north do not. This has brought up so many problems as in the case of the violent sect 'boko haram' which means 'western education is a sin'.Now we can't say that the intrusion of the English has brought us so many problems as we are not the francophone countries. Our problem is that we let our culture deviate to that of our colonial masters but that is not our focus. We are not the only multilingual nation, take a look at China but while one will blame multilingualism another will blame religion. In a way multilingualism leads to our practice of religion for while the south are more of christians, the north are more of muslims. This also brings problems because in some part of the north about 40% are christians and this has brought about mirage of religious crises especially in places like Jos,Kaduna and the rest as the muslims feel that the north is their territory. This has shown that we cannot treat multilingualism without treating religion and vice versa as both are inter-related.Therefore,to solve our problems this two phenomenon should be dealt with.
