Children are a blessong and a gift from the Lord so says the bible.In recent times,i have heard stories of evil treatments metted out to the children like kidnapping,child abuse and i ask myself if any of them have any human conscience.All these has Africa as its center focus as we tend to beat up our children as if they were punching bags(am not saying that discipline is bad)but we should discipline them with love.
The United Nations(UNO)approved 27th May as a day for celebrating the child.It has been predicted that the rate of children on the streets and children suffering from abuse is on high.Early this year,we had a case where 15 children were taken captive from a primary school and after that one,there was another case of 4 kidnapped.All these will continue if adequate measures are not put in place to protect our children.Our government should provide support for every child's potential,don't deny them their rights.Don't give them what they want but what is needful and important.We should know that the road of success,discipline,ethics and glory we construct today will be the road they will drive on tomorrow.Therefore,construct a road for them today and let's build Nigeria;for the Nigeria we seek is in the Nigerian child!
